Snoopers and Speed Camera Detectors

Does anybody know a good speed camera detector that also warns of laser/radar? Is there any on the market that offer everything, i.e. Sat Nav and speed camera detectors etc?

You can often get camera subscriptions for your satnav - IE a monthly update of reported cameras - I get one for my i3.

Didn't I read somewhere that the laser detectors were going to be made illegal? You were still allowed to have the things that had downloadable lists of static cameras but not the detectors to catch speed traps?

    Speed cameras

Take a look at Google Earth. There is a speed camera overlay which indicates the postion of cameras throughout the United Kingdom And overseas as well.

Have had a Bel Euro 550 for the last 3 years and it has saved me a few times however it was no defnce for a laser camera which was 980 meters away !
Have now bought a Talex as Laser/Radar detectors are going to be banned in the new Road Safety Bill.GPS based is ok.

    Speed cam and laser detectors.

I have used various speed cam detector and also radar/laser detectors.
Each have their own advantages and disadvantages. Recently some vandals/thieves decided to break into my car and decided to break open my glovebox. I had left the suckers and brackets on the windscreen. Well they stole my prize Satnav and camera detectors as well as doing some major damage to the car. Anyway to cut out a long story, I replaced my stolen items with an entry level SatNav-Navman-F20 and an entry level radar/laser detector.(MicroFusion-Voice alert)
I subscribed for the 3 years camera updates with Navman after researching the "free" updates some other companies were offering. (no such thing as a free lunch come to mind) I have found the units work as well as the more expensive units I used to own. A good company that gave me an excellent customer service was speedsafe.co.uk
I would recommend them for a frst class service.

However upon thalking to Speedsafe they told me it would also pick up Gatso Cameras but upon using it it picks them up when you have gone past them:confused:

My friend me and his nephew all bought these Microfuzions but are begining to wonder if they are ok or not

There is nothing wrong with your unit. It has been specifically designed to detect 360 degrees. It alerts you when police are tracking you from behind, as well as in front.
Sneeky these jam sandwiches. If you go onto the micro fusion website and look up the info on the unit you have it will show you just how the micro fusion works.
    So don't worry, you're covered 360 degrees.

Thanks for the reply and I have had a look at the specifications ,however Speedsafe told us it picked up Gatsos as these are also Radar they are right they do but only when you are on top of them:confused:

The only other place I can think of to obtain more individual info. is to contact Microfusion themselves.

Remember the angle/placement of the unit on the dashboard also affects it's accuracy. Placing the unit directly on the dash so the beam needs to pass through the wiper blades will affect accuracy.
When police use their cameras and radar guns, they usually point it to the flattest point on your car. NUMBERPLATE. Gatso cameras also are angled to flash at your numberplate, usually rear. So you would be expecting your unit to work miracles to detect a beam hundreds of yards away. It's only an entry level unit after all. If you need something powerful you should look towards a Road Angel. I had one before it was stolen. The distance was about 20 seconds from point of contact @ 70mph.
