I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to notify the RAC that I have just changed my car, without being endlessly put on hold on the phone. I have looked at the RAC.co.uk homepage and there are options to upgrade your breakdown cover or insurance etc but all I want to do is tell them I have a different car .i have been put on hold twice today for 20mins each time and being told "we are extremely busy today". I gave up in the end, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do it online. Can anyone help ?

Apologies for resurrecting an old discussion, but I wanted to share the answer and help someone point people in the right direction.

You can now add/remove or edit the vehicles on your membership in your myRAC account. Go to www.rac.co.uk/myrac

I assume that you have the basic cover which is tied to a specific car. Most policies are tied to the person and apply to any car they are driving.

I think that you click on "MY RAC" at the top of this page. This takes you to your personal details and it will allow you to change the reg No.

Thanks for the reply Santa. I persevered with the phone and got through to Customer services in the end. Job done. It seems you can no longer change your car reg online. Going into the personal details section allows you to change levels of cover or order new membership but no option to change vehicle. It says they are working on a new simpler way of doing this which will be available in the near future. Anyway its done now and i wont be changing the car again anytime soon, but thanks for you reply

Darn - not being a member, I couldn't do a test drive. At least you got it sorted in the end. :)
