can we have avatars limiting to a certain KB, iknow these take a lot of hard disk space on a server but limiting per user to a certain KB for their avatar. also dimensions of an avatar

Avatar 70x70 pixels is pretty lightweight. I'df have thought the technical constraint is bandwidth rather than server storage ... and moderating the content (some avatars would not fit the RAC corporate image / brand!)

I mean, what would you make of this? :eek:



PS... watch for it when the RAC cars go past it at the Mallory Park round of the BTCC :)

Yes, it's not hard disk space, it's bandwidth, which isn't an issue at the moment, but could be as the forum grows. Equally, yes, it's moderating to make sure there's no inappropriate content.

then why not ask some of us to help you moderate the forums ?

i have my own forums and can set them up and moderate them , if we could talk to you and you get our payroll and that way you would know we work for the rac . some of us frequent the forums as we have no life :) and then we can help you to help us to help the forums grow .... heck we could be no 1 for forums ... as well as on the road ....... ty jd power :D

I should think it's more the latter than the former. :)

Seriously, I would be very surprised if the RAC were unable to cope with small bandwidth issues - but for a corporate body such as the RAC, inappropriate content is definitely a heads up.
