So does this emissions banding only apply to cars made after 2001?.I take it mine being made in 98 is just classed as plg and as you say £180.

i believe so as i cannot see anything that says for cars before 2001, i usually just do it online and pay whatever it says lol.

DVLA has updated its website with the revised bands. I have to say that I'm relieved that my 1.8l dual fuel Freelander is still in band F i.e. £190 pa. but for 7K miles a year that's still a rip-off!
Do not expect DVLA to be frank and helpful. It took me over eight months - loads of expensive phone calls and tests (paid for by me after a Energy Saving Trust appointed converter sent in all the necessary information to gain me my £800 grant for conversion - supposedly in line with DVLA:rolleyes: - to finally agree I was right in the first place - by which time I'd lost 8 months' VED reduction and spent most of the grant trying to sort it out! Talk about left and right hands not knowing what they were doing!!
