Disconnect the fuel pipe at the fuel filter that comes from the tank and then crank the engine. Diesel should flow out of the pipe. If it does not then suspect the pump or its relay.
If it does flow out then crack open an injector. If fuel does not squirt out then the fuel pressure regulator (shut off solenoid may be faulty).
Or do a diagnostic check with a quality tool and check the fuel pressure when cranking the engine. You need at least 280 bar to start the engine and ideally should be 300 bar within 2 seconds.
