Ford Ka ka ka ka....

R reg, 80k on the clock has started to cut out for no apparent reason. It does start again though - and it might cut out when accelerating, or slowing down..
Changed plugs - no change. Changed the Idle Air Control Valve - no change. Anyone had a similar problem? A colleague suggested it could be a 'sensor'....could it be the oxygen sensor - would a fautly one result in sporadic cutting out? Lambda? MAF? (do KA's have these things!)

Any help, or just a short list of what it could be would be greatly appreciated...

    Many thanks

    cut out

    Hi minnsy

Can you hear the fuel pump run when switching the ignition on?

Have you got a spark at the plugs when cranking?
Have you got a injection pulse at the injectors when cranking?
If you havent got the 2 above check the crank sensor

Is the red led immobiliser light in the clock go out or does it flash faster?

Hi Does your Ka have Aircon? If so, it may be the unit seizing and causing drag on the engine which will cause it to cut out especially when slowing down It's been happening to my daughters Ka. Hope this helps
